ROOTS Committees

Administrative - The Administrative Committee oversees the other ROOTS committees and delegates the oversight for ROOTS activities to these committees.  The Administrative Committee plans and records activities at regular meetings, develops and maintains a budget for organizational activities, and serves as the primary liaison between ROOTS and RPMS administration.

School Operations Support (SOS) - The SOS Committee provides support for a wide variety of upkeep of the building and grounds and special projects related to the facility and grounds. Included within this committee's work is:

         Coordinating the Sandpaper Letters program
         Serving as the account contact for the Gourmet Gorilla lunch program
         Supporting grounds clean-up and school garden efforts
         Supporting the Carpool Volunteers program
         Organizing and supporting childcare services for Parent/Teacher Conference days

Volunteer - The Volunteer Committee is responsible for providing ROOTS Committee Leaders with access to a list of volunteers for all ROOTS activities and for tracking volunteer interests and hours worked. It assists with obtaining volunteers for school-wide projects and events requiring volunteer assistance.

Community/Hospitality -The Community/Hospitality Committee's primary role is to facilitate community building between parents, faculty and staff at RPMS through providing opportunities for the entire RPMS community to gather and take part in community-building opportunities such as:

         Supporting RPMS administration during Orientation Week/Phase-In
         Organizing parent coffees throughout the school-year
         Identifying and training Room Coordinators
         Coordinating activities with the New Families and Teacher Love Subcommittees

New Families - The New Families Subcommittee is a permanent subcommittee under Community/Hospitality responsible for organizing activities for incoming families to help new families become a part of the larger RPMS community.  In this role, the sub-committee organizes activities such as: 

         New families meet-and-greet play dates
         New families happy hour
         Greeters to focus on new families during Orientation Week

Teacher Love - The Teacher Love Subcommittee is a permanent subcommittee under Community/Hospitality responsible for organizing activities throughout the school year for RPMS teaching and administrative staff in order to express the community's appreciation for their hard work and dedication to our children.

Events (Good Times) - The Good Times Committee is a permanent subcommittee under Community/Hospitality responsible for organizing social events for families in collaboration with the Special Events & ROOTS Coordinator.

Philanthropy - The Philanthropy Committee helps to bridge relations between the RPMS community and the neighboring community and helps provide the RPMS community with an outlet for charitable activities.
