Preschool Three to Six Program
Maria Montessori described the learning of children ages 3- 6 like that of a sponge, soaking in knowledge from all their senses.
The adults in the classroom act as guides for the child, showing new ways to explore the four core curriculum areas: practical life, sensorial, math and language. Music, art and cultural subjects are also integrated into the class experience and every day includes recess on the playground or gym, and a snack. All activities are designed to nurture self-confidence, concentration, independence and respect for each other and the environment.
The Preschool classrooms are staffed by one Montessori trained and certified teacher, and one assistant. Children must be three years old by September 1st and toilet trained before entering the program.
