About Rogers Park Montessori School
Rogers Park Montessori School is a non-profit, non-sectarian, parent-governed school providing programs for children in the Montessori philosophy. RPMS is guided by the standards set forth by the American Montessori Society. The school is certified by the Illinois State Board of Education and carries a license from the Department of Children and Family Services to conduct its Toddler program.

Our aspiration is to aid children in their development by providing an environment that fosters their innate curiosity and love of learning. Through participation in the school community, children develop a strong sense of self and an understanding of their connection to the larger world.

The foundation that upholds RPMS is the involvement of the staff and parents in the life of the school. This partnership brings stability to our organization, offers opportunities for growth for parents and staff and, most importantly, supports and nourishes our children as they go about their work of learning and self-discovery.

Established in 1966 by a small group of parents in Rogers Park, the school moved to Edgewater shortly afterwards.  In January of 2006 we moved to our  new state of the art building located at 1800 West Balmoral.
